Also known as “water cube” , National Aquatics Center is located in the west of Beijing Olympic Park, with the National Stadium (Bird’s Nest) lie on both sides of the northern end of Beijing’s central axis respectively, together forming new landmarks of this historical and cultural city.

The design scheme of Water Cube is the “Water Cube” ([H2O]3) scheme of the global design competition, the construction started in December 2003, completed in January 2008.

The total construction area of Water Cube is 80,000 square meters, of which the construction area of the underground part is not less than 15,000 square meters, the length, width and height of the building are 177 meters, 177 meters and 30 meters respectively.

During the 2008 Olympic Games, swimming, diving and other events were held here.
