        As a transportation hub in the southwest, Chengdu has very convenient transportation.

Chengdu Railway Station

        Chengdu is the largest railway hub in the southwestern China. It is the starting point of Chengdu-Chongqing, Baocheng, Chengdu-Kunming, Dacheng, and other trunk railways. More than 20 large and medium-sized cities across the country have trains directly to Chengdu. There are currently four main railway stations in Chengdu, Chengdu Railway Station (North Station), Chengdu South Railway Station, Chengdu East Railway Station and Chengdu West Railway Station.

        Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is located in Shuangliu County in the southwest of Chengdu City, about 16 kilometers away from Urban Area. It is the busiest civil hub airport in Central and Western China. The airport has flights to more than 70 large and medium-sized cities in China, as well as round-trip flights from Chengdu to eight international cities and regions, such as Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore and Tokyo.

        Chengdu is the largest highway hub in the Southwest, where six national highways meet including No.108 and No.319.

Chengdu’s bus network extends in all directions, and most places can be reached by bus, especially the tourist attractions in the city and suburbs. Chengdu buses are mostly self-service ticketing, and require exact change.

        Chengdu is the first city in western China to start construction of the subway. There are six existing subway lines: Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 4, Line 7 and Line 10. Metro Line 1 (Wei Jia Nian—Science City) and Metro Line 2 (Xipu— Long Quan Yi) meet at Tianfu Square which is a transfer station. All are charged by sectional fare, and the starting price is 2 yuan.
